This report contains survey data on monthly household income in Lagos, Africa´s most populous city. Capturing accurate data on household income can be challenging in the context of Africa, where macroeconomic modelling, top-down estimation and sweeping assumptions are frequently employed in an effort to compensate for shortcomings in data collection.
At Sagaci Research, we are committed to a more robust, bottom-up approach. Our Saga Income data set, which is based on in-person interviews with a stratified sample of more than 1,000 of the city´s inhabitants, covers income from both formal and informal sources. It provides key insight on the purchasing power of the more than 15 million consumers that call this mega-city home.
