This quarterly report is based on real-world data on trade density* in Kenya that is supplied to Sagaci Research by participating retailers on a monthly basis. As of Q2 2018, this dataset covered 215 stores.
Absolute trade density is provided per store, per mall and for the following categories:
- Beauty and personal care
- Food and beverage (fast food, casual dining, cafés and restaurants)
- Fashion (clothing and footwear)
- Grocery retail
- Specialised retail (accessories, health shops and pharmacies, household appliances and furniture)
*Trade density is defined as store sales divided by sales area (KES/m²)
