When US retail behemoth Wal-Mart acquired a majority stake in South African retailer Massmart in 2011, many predicted it would steamroll its way across Africa. The reality has been more prosaic, with Massmart adopting a relatively cautious approach to rolling out its Game banner across sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).
