Spar doubles down on Cameroon

Spar Cameroon has opened three new Express outlets, with sales areas ranging from 60m² to 200m², doubling its store count in the country. All of these new outlets are located in the capital Yaoundé. A 110m² outlet located in an Ola Energy garage forecourt in the suburb of Messassi targets “middle income” consumers, according to the retailer. The smallest of these new outlets is located in the city centre and targets “singles and passing trade.”
The first Spar store in Cameroon opened in 2015. The banner is franchised locally by L’Atrium S.A., a joint venture between two family-owned companies – Dee-lite Sarl and Groupe ARNO.
